At Binance, we believe users should hear important updates directly from us, clearly and early. That is especially true when regulatory developments may affect how some people access our services.
Today, we want to share an update on our MiCA licensing path in Europe, what it means for our users, and what happens next.
What’s Changing
Binance has decided to withdraw its MiCA licence application with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) in Greece and pursue authorization in another EU Member State. When we are ready to announce that Member State, we will do so publicly.
We made this decision after careful consideration of the status and the timeline of the process in Greece, with our users’ interests at the center.
Over many months, Binance worked constructively and in good faith with the HCMC. However, with no formal decision as the MiCA transition period comes to an end, we have taken the prudent decision to move forward in a way that gives users more clarity and allows us to continue pursuing a compliant, long-term path in Europe.
What this Means for You
The most important message is this: your funds remain safe and secure.
We are in the process of contacting all of our EU users. Those communications will explain:
Please directly contact customer support to address your queries and understand the actions you need to take. To contact customer support, click here: https://www.binance.com/support.
Our priority is to minimize disruption, provide clarity, and ensure users are treated fairly throughout this process.
Why We are Communicating Now
We know that uncertainty can create confusion and concern. We also know trust is built when users are given clear information in time to make informed decisions.
That is why we are sharing this update now.
When regulatory timelines change or licensing processes create uncertainty, we believe the right approach is to communicate early, be transparent about what is known, and give users practical guidance as soon as possible.
Our Commitment to Europe Remains Unchanged
While we withdrew our application in Greece, Binance remains committed to Europe.
Europe is an important region for Binance, and our ambition to operate under a clear, fair, and harmonized MiCA framework remains unchanged. We continue to support MiCA’s goal of creating a consistent regulatory framework for crypto assets across the EU, and we are confident we will secure authorization in another EU Member State in the coming months.
Our long-term vision for Europe has not changed:
What You Should Do Now
For now, we encourage users to:
If action is required for your account, we will contact you directly with clear next steps.
Please be cautious of scams: Binance will never contact you by phone. All communications will be sent through official Binance channels or by email. We will never ask for your password, 2FA codes, or private keys.
We’re Here to Support You
We understand that regulatory changes can be frustrating, especially when they create uncertainty. Our priority is to handle those changes responsibly and keep users informed every step of the way.
We are grateful for the trust our European users place in us. We do not take that trust for granted.
We remain focused on doing this the right way: protecting users, staying compliant, and continuing to build a secure and trusted platform for the future.
